Quantum Rehab

Finding Freedom Outdoors

by Jared Wayland

One of my favourite things about summer is spending time outdoors with my son and enjoying the little moments together.

Recently, we headed to a park by the lake for an afternoon outside. There was a steady breeze, kites flying overhead, and a beautiful trail winding along the water. It was one of those simple summer days that ends up meaning a lot.

As a power chair user, outings like this can sometimes feel uncertain depending on the terrain or accessibility of the space. But having my Quantum power chair gives me the confidence to get out and enjoy these moments without constantly worrying about the path ahead.

The trail wasn’t perfectly smooth the entire way, but my chair handled it comfortably, allowing me to focus on what mattered most. Spending quality time with my son. That’s what mobility is really about for me. Independence, inclusion, and the freedom to say “yes” to experiences that make life meaningful.

Whether it’s parks, trails, concerts, or community events, having dependable mobility makes it easier to enjoy summer and stay connected to the people and places you love. Sometimes the best adventures are the simple ones. Fresh air, family, and a good day by the lake.
